A new research has found that social media posts and check-ins can be applied to anticipate when an area is about to be gentrified. Researchers from the University of London investigated thousands of social media posts on Twitter and Foursquare to determine what venues and what neighborhoods brought people together of heterogeneous background versus those that attracted homogenous crowds.
